GeForce3 Information Resource

More news and speculation in the media ;-)

tnaw_xtennis has posted a few articles speculating on what the GeForce3 will offer. The articles are both informative and insightful. In the first article, tnaw_xtennis extrapolates performance numbers for the GeForce3 based on the history of NVIDIA's chips. The next article takes a look at the Video Core and Memory Speed of the GeForce3. And the latest article speculates on whether the GeForce3 will use a 128bit or 256bit DDR Memory Interface by looking at the extra pins found on the GeForce3 GPU.

Nvidia chip offers preview of Xbox graphics is a News.com story that, as the name implies, talks about how the GeForce3 will give us sneak peak at the graphics prowess of the Xbox.

Inside Mac Games has posted notes from a Conference call with Tony Tamasi, director of product management for NVIDIA. Here's a sample:

Tomasi: Yes, the clock speeds are exactly the same vs the clock speeds for the PC product which was exactly the same case for the GeForce 2 MX product we delivered for Apple. We don’t deliver a sub-standard, below speed version for the Macintosh. It’s exactly the same product: same speeds, same memory, same everything.

That's it for now.

Now that the GeForce3 has been officially announced for the PC, it's been nearly impossible to keep up with all the news. Rather than trying to keep up with "the neighbors", I'll leave that to others who do it better than me. One of those sites is iXBT. They have taken up the post announcement task of keeping track of the GeForce3 cards that have been announced. It includes press releases and screenshots. Finally, this link takes you to NVIDIA's GeForce3 page.
