Playback
While
ATI is known for their DVD playback quality, nVidia
has made great strides in closing that gap. Unfortunately,
since there was no software DVD player included with
the card, I had to rely on an old version of Cyberlink's
PowerDVD (version 1.6). Running first on my "old
" P3-450 and now on my P3-600, I noticed no dropped
frames or stutters. Image quality was very good. Even
scaling from native resolution to full screen showed
little image degradation.
Video
2000
For video
testing, I used Video 2000
from Mad Onion. Video2000 is a new type of benchmarking
tool designed for evaluating the video quality, performance
and features available in modern graphics adapters.
The test results are shown below.

There
were problems with the video/quality tests. According
to Video 2000, the Erazor X2 suffers from problems
with Moire and missing horizontal lines in the Overlay
tests. It appears to be a problem with the drivers
and should be fixed in an upcoming release.
