The big push for 3-D televisions begins this week. Panasonic begins selling its models Wednesday.

The company is teaming up with Best Buy to let customers try out the technology at special displays in hundreds of stores.

Panasonic also plans to discount the 3-D models by close to 50 percent. A 50-inch model will sell for about $2,500, according to the Wall Street Journal.
