NVIDIA Chooses Maxtor Hard Drives Posted July 16, 2002 EDT 12:12PM by Agitator!!


Maxtor today announced its award-winning 7200 RPM DiamondMax Plus D740X was selected by NVIDIA for systems showcasing NVIDIA's new nForce2 Platform Processors and core-logic architecture unveiled today at the Platform Conference in San Jose, CA.
    The DiamondMax Plus D740X is the only 7200-RPM hard drive that features the Ultra ATA/133 interface to streamline data transfer rates up to 133 megabytes (MB) per second. The ATA/133 interface combined with a 7200-RPM spin speed provides gamers, video streamers and music professionals with the level of performance required from their demanding applications.

    NVIDIA launched its nForce2 Platform Processors today, a next-generation core-logic architecture that integrates a high level of features and functionality for the AMD-based desktop PC market. In addition to integrating an award-winning GeForce4 MX graphics core, dual Ethernet controllers, Dolby Digital real-time encoding and support for three Firewire and six USB 2.0 ports, NVIDIA's nForce2 Platform Processors also deliver the industry's only dual DDR memory design, providing up to 6.4GB/sec. of system bandwidth when paired with DDR400.
